A Word About “Turnkey” Generator Quotes
When requesting an estimate for a whole-house standby generator, many homeowners ask for a “turnkey” quote. However, the term turnkey can mean different things depending on the company providing the estimate.
In many cases, turnkey means one company will coordinate or provide everything involved in the installation, including the generator, electrical work, natural gas or propane piping, permits, inspections, and startup. While that may sound convenient, it does not automatically mean it is the best option.
Whole-house generator installations involve multiple skilled trades. Electrical work should be performed by a qualified electrician, and gas piping should be handled by a qualified plumbing or gas professional.
Ask yourself: Would you want a plumber performing your electrical work? Likewise, would you want an electrician installing your gas lines?
The most important consideration should not be whether a company advertises a “turnkey” installation. It should be whether each portion of the project is being completed by properly licensed, experienced, and insured professionals.
A well-coordinated installation involving qualified specialists can provide the same convenience as a turnkey package—without compromising workmanship, safety, or accountability.

WE WILL NEVER INSTALL A WHOLE HOUSE BACKUP GENERATOR WITHOUT A PERMIT, THIS PROTECTS THE HOMEOWNER AND THE CONTRACTOR INSTALLING IT. Many contractors install generators without a permit so they can get away with cutting corners.
We don't measure our success by the number of generators we install each year. Instead, we focus on doing every installation the right way. Because we intentionally limit the number of generator projects we take on, every customer receives my personal attention from the initial consultation through the final startup.
